Carr, Carol McAdams
Our beloved mother, Carol Dean McAdams Carr passed away in Denver, Colorado on July 12, 2026. She was born October 8, 1934, in High Point, North Carolina to Elmer and Jewel McAdams. Carol will be lovingly remembered by her family and cherished friends.
Carol graduated in 1953 from Thomas Dale High School Chester, Virginia. In October 1954 she married James Richard Carr in South Chesterfield, Virginia. They were married 54 years before Jim died in 2008. Jim’s career choice allowed the family to live in numerous U.S. cities and overseas.
Carol received an associate degree in 1983 from College of DuPage and lived her passion for Interior Design. She had independent clients in Illinois before moving to Delray Beach, Florida and opening her own business, Beaudacious, an antiques, gifts and design shop. Delray Beach was her home for 25 years.
Carol is survived by her three children, Nancy Campbell (Bob), Denver, Colorado, Richard Carr (Laurie Williams) Millington, Tennessee, Tim Carr (Kris), Centennial, Colorado.
Her surviving grandchildren and great-granddaughter are Sarah Campbell (Matt Burns), Chicago, Illinois, Caroline Campbell (David Hirsh, fiancé), Denver, Colorado, Michael Carr, Denver, Colorado, Ryan Carr, Denver, Colorado. Her great-granddaughter, Caroline Alison Burns (Callie), Chicago, Illinois.
Carol is survived by her sisters and brothers, Sue Rall, Delray Beach, Florida, Jimmie McAdams (Judy), Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Shirley Chandler, Yorktown, Virginia and Leonard McAdams (Candy), Colonial Heights, Virginia.
Her surviving brother-in-law and sisters-in-laws are David Carr (Janice), Delray Beach, Florida, Mildred Carr Satterfield, Farmville, Virginia, Nettie Carr, Hopewell, Virginia, Sue Carr, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Carol Ann Thomasson, Colonial Heights, Virginia.
Many nieces and nephews survived her.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents and husband, brother, Robert McAdams. Brother-in- laws, Joe Carr, Tom Carr, Charlie Carr, Bill Carr, Jerry Rall, Jacky Chandler.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be in Colonial Heights, Virginia. She will be buried beside her husband in Blacksburg, Virginia.
