Branyan, Stephen Charles

Stephen Charles Branyan, affectionately known as Charley, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA, at the age of 64. Born January 9, 1961, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William Robert and Margaret Holbrey Branyan.

Charlie attended the Orchard Christian Center. He was an avid animal lover who enjoyed his cats. Additionally, he enjoyed spending time with friends and loved talking about cars. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend who will forever hold a special place in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Laura “Sissy” Branyan. He will be deeply missed by his three brothers, Andy Branyan (Jackie), Mickey Branyan (Diana), and John Branyan (Rhonda); nieces, Anitra and Amanda; and nephews, Barrett, Forrest, and Eddy.

A Celebration of Life for Charley will be held at 7:00PM on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Rusty Hughes officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until time of services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Charley’s honor to the American Cancer Society (All About Cancer | American Cancer Society).
