Bowers, Shirley Wilburg
Shirley Lorraine Wilburn Bowers of Baltimore, MD, departed this earthly life to go and be the Lord on December 15, 2023, at the age of 86, just 5 days shy of turning 87. She was a resident at Complete Care of Severna Park, MD, after she had a stroke in 2022.
She was born in Giles Co., VA, on December 19, 1936, and was a daughter of the late Edward Lee Wilburn, Sr., and Dollie Mae Vaughn Wilburn. She married Bobby Lee Bowers, Sr., at an early age and moved to Maryland where they raised their family of 5 children. She was widowed in October 2013. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis Jean Bowers and husband Howard Benjamin Bowers and a brother and sister-in-law, Edward Lee Wilburn, Jr. and his wife, Betty Lou Wilburn.
She leaves to cherish her memory, 1 daughter, Nancy Ann Reusing (Robert) of MD, 4 sons, Bobby Lee Bowers, Jr, (Marie) of Princeton, WV, Charles David Bowers, Sr. (Isabella) of GA, Gerry Alan Bowers and his widow wife, Teri of MD, Gerald Wayne Bowers (Cheryl), 10 grandchildren, Paul Reusing (Stacie), Patricia Miller (Brandon), Sue Ann Bowers, Bobby Lee Bowers, III, Jennifer Lynn Bowers, Charles David Bowers, Jr., (Ashley), James Bowers (Rhonda), Britney Davis (Robert), Morgan Peterson (Joshua), Sara Lorraine Bowers, 13 great great grandchildren, 8 half-brothers and sisters and numerous nieces & nephews.
Family and friends may gather at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Halethorpe, MD 21227 for a public visitation on Tuesday, December 19 from 3:00-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm.
Funeral services will be conducted, Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 1pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows, VA with Pastor Paul Terry of North Narrows Tabernacle Church in Narrows, VA with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2 hours before the service from 11 – 1pm.
