Shealor, Elmer L.

Elmer L. Shealor, age 84 of Christiansburg, Virginia went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 26, 2026 . Proceeding in his death are his mother, Lucy Shealor; father Harry Shealor; brother Harold Shealor; sister Winifred Howell; wife Estelle Shealor from 1964 to 2004; wife Sarah Shealor from 2008 to 2023 and several brother and sister-in laws.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters and their spouses; Peggy and Ray Bart and Connie and David Johnson, step-sons Billy Price and Mike price. He also has five grandchildren; Michaela Bartimoccia, Noah Bart, Nathan Bart, Jonathan Bart, and Ryan Johnson. He also has a special nephew Michael Howell, nieces Erma Stovall, and Eva Johnson, as well and many other nieces and nephews. In addition, Elmer leaves behind his precious cat Pearlie who has been his close companion for the past year.

Elmer retired from New River Castings (Radford Foundry) in 2004. He previously worked at AT&T, and Corning where he made many friends over the years with his co-workers. He also obtained his GED later in life and then proceeded to New River Community College to get his auto mechanics degree and worked a brief period of time at Firestone.

Elmer was loved by everyone he met, and if you were lucky enough, he wrote a poem about you. He dedicated his gift of writing poems to share his love of God and spread the gospel to most everyone he encountered. His life verse is Matthew verse 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. He really loved his church family at Good Shepherd Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th at Good Shepherd Baptist Church from 11 AM to 12 PM. The funeral service will be held immediately after with Pastor Michael Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
