Find Your Best Reads at the Y Book Fair

Book lovers, collectors, families, and bargain hunters are invited to discover incredible treasures at the 2026 Annual Y Book Fair, hosted by the YMCA at Virginia Tech at the Y Center, 1000 N. Main Street in Blacksburg.

With thousands of books, comics, graphic novels, vinyl records, and vintage collectibles available at some of the best prices in the region, this beloved community event offers something for readers and collectors of every age and interest. Visitors will find everything from bestselling fiction and children’s books to rare finds and unique collectibles.

A special highlight of this year’s fair is a curated collection featuring local authors, books of local interest, and publications connected to the New River Valley, celebrating the stories, people, and history that make our region unique.

Book enthusiasts can get first access to the inventory during a special Preview Event on:

Thursday, October 1
6:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Preview Event guests will enjoy an evening of early browsing and may purchase up to 25 books before the public sale begins. Whether searching for favorite authors, building a home library, or hunting for hidden gems, attendees will have the first opportunity to shop the fair’s best selection while supporting a great community fundraiser.

Proceeds from the Y Book Fair directly support the YMCA at Virginia Tech’s mission of strengthening the foundations of community. Every day, the Y serves approximately 300 individuals, including children, Virginia Tech student volunteers, gardeners, health seekers, shoppers, artisans, and families throughout the New River Valley.

Through youth development programs, health and wellness initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and community outreach efforts, the Y nurtures the potential of young people, improves the health and well-being of individuals and families, and demonstrates social responsibility in action.
