Linkous, Dan Lee

Linkous, Dan Lee 2It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David “Dan” Lee Linkous, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the age of 87.

Dan is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years Carolyn; son, Davey; and parents George and Sadie Linkous. He is survived by his daughters Pam (Terry) Brubeck, Carrie (Randy) Moran, and Kim (Eldon) Spangler; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A longtime resident of the Christiansburg/Blacksburg, Virginia area, Dan spent many years as a skilled mechanic. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dedication, honesty, and willingness to help others. Whether repairing a vehicle or lending a hand to a friend, he was someone people could always count on.

Outside of work, he was a devoted fan of Virginia tech. Cheering on the Hokies brought him great joy, and he rarely missed an opportunity to follow the team he loved. His passion for Virginia tech was just one of the many things that brought family and friends together.

Above all, Dan loved his family. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, caring heart, steady presence, and the countless ways he showed his love through actions rather than words.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to care givers Debbie Carroll and Kaitlyn Everhart as well as Good Samaritan Hospice.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to New Life Harvest Church, Radford, Virginia.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Dallas Vines officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, July, 28, 2026, prior to the service
