Ramsey, Faye Foster 2Faye Foster Ramsey died on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the home of her daughter in Peterstown. Born November 29, 1927, in Forest Hill, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Charles Everett Foster and Bertha Mae Saunders Foster.

She was a faithful member of the Peterstown Baptist Church and active in the Kathleen Hamm Ladies Circle.

She was a member of the Peterstown Order of Eastern Star having faithfully filled many offices. Additionally, she was a member of the Peters Mountain Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and had served as Treasurer since 2019. She continued helping their project to serve the Rotary Club by making homemade rolls for their dinners until her health made it impossible. As an expression of fun and friendship, she, for several years, was a member of the local Red Hats Club.

She was retired from the Monroe County Board of Education where she had been employed in many different positions. She began her employment as a teacher’s aide at Peterstown High School, followed by being a special education aide at Union Elementary School, and finally as a secretary at Peterstown High School. She retired in 1989.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Marshall Ramsey, her son, Sterling Dean Ramsey, and her daughter, Mary Kathryn (Kathy) Ramsey Robertson. Additionally, she was preceded by sisters: Myrtle Simms, Ruth Smith, Florence Foster, Mary Walker, Kaye Hannan, and brothers: Ernest Foster, Donald Foster, and David Foster. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Kornegay and husband Terry, of Peterstown, daughter-in-law, Janet Ramsey of Fort Wayne, Indiana, grandchildren, Jaclyn Elaine Considine (Tom) of Lake Zurich, IL, and James Dean Ramsey (Rachel) of Elm Grove, WI, and Great Grandchildren Caffrey Elaine Considine, Teagan Jane Considine, Margaret Jane (Maggie) Ramsey, and Jack Sterling Ramsey; her brother Charles L. (Jerry) Foster (Lois), and sister-in-law Wilma Foster, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Roles Chapel Baptist Church in Forest Hill, West Virginia.
