Vehicle fire leads to two arrests 2On June 1, 2026 at approximately 0845 hours, Giles County 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call for a vehicle on fire at Tangent Outdoors in Pembroke. Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department arrived on-scene and began attempting to put the fire out. The occupants of the vehicle began interfering with firefighter operations and PVFD asked for law enforcement assistance.

Members of the Giles County Sheriff’s Office arrived on-scene shortly after the call for assistance. Two members of the Giles County Sheriff’s Office and three members of the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department were assaulted during an attempt to gain control of the scene. Two members of the Giles County Sheriff’s Office were treated and released at Giles Community Hospital.

Deputies identified 44 year-old Tynisha Lenea Scott of Gallion, Alabama and 40 year-old Robert Leon Bryan of Eureka, California as the occupants of the vehicle. Bryan and Scott were also accompanied by a juvenile whom was being monitored by a bystander during the incident.

Scott was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, child endangerment, three counts of assault on a firefighter, and two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer. Bryan was charged with resisting arrest, child endangerment, three counts of assault on a firefighter, and one count of assault on a law enforcement officer.
