Ozaraga, Remy

Lourdes Remedios Jocson Fernandez Ozaraga, 77 of Blacksburg, Virginia passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on September 1, 1948 in Clarin, Misamis Occidental, Philippines, Remy was the daughter of Francisco Fernandez and Rovera Jocson, who proceeded her in death.

Remy is survived by her devoted husband, Archivald Ozaraga and her loving son, Emil. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses Norma Fernandez & Mukesh Mehta and Angelito Fernandez & Elvie Valdez Fernandez, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, “grandchildren” and extended family.

Remy studied at the University of Philippines in Manila, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and a Master’s Degree in Communications. She retired in 2009 after a long and distinguished career in Human Resources working for the companies Warner-Lambert, Pfizer, Tetra, and Spectrum. Remy also opened her heart and her home to Filipino students at Virginia Tech who couldn’t return home around the holidays.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Remy at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 1205 Old Mill Road, Blacksburg, VA 24060, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11 am. A private reception for the immediate family will follow at 2 pm the same day at her private residence in Blacksburg.
