Hodge, Roger Lee
Roger Lee Hodge, a cherished family man, respected community member, and a lover of music and the great outdoors, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at his home in Radford, Virginia. Born on December 2, 1955, in Montgomery County, Virginia, to the late Paul Bentley Hodge and Florence Tickle Hodge, Roger lived a full life characterized by dedication, warmth, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Roger’s devotion to his family was the cornerstone of his existence. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Sonia Burleson Hodge, with whom he built a life filled with laughter and unwavering support. Together, they raised two children, a son, Roger Paul Hodge, and a daughter, Lauren Ellen Davis, married to Dustin. Roger’s role as a grandfather was one he cherished with all his heart, and his grandchildren, Lillian and Theodore Davis, will forever hold dear the memories of their playful and kind-hearted “Papa.” He is also survived by his brother, Carl Hodge.
In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Donna Hodge
Roger spent his professional years with Goodyear Rubber Company. Beyond his commitments to family and work, Roger was an avid music enthusiast, with a taste that spanned genres and eras. The outdoors was Roger’s sanctuary, where he found peace and contentment in the beauty of nature.
The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted for Roger on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 1:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bonds officiating. Funeral services will conclude in the Burleson Cemetery in Pembroke, Virginia where he will be laid to rest.
