Ratliff, Roger Lloyd

Roger Lloyd Ratliff, 73, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025 at his home in Christiansburg, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Ratliff; and his parents Billy Lloyd Ratliff (stepmother Patricia Ratliff) and Nellie King.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Jessica Lambert & husband, Tom; grandchildren, Kara and Kadence Lambert; brother, Gary Ratliff; sister, Judy Jones; nieces, Heather Patel & April Downing; stepsons, James Pierce & Chris Shaver and many other cousins and extended family members.

Roger worked for Norfolk Southern railroad for many years. But for most of his career, he was a self-employed electrician. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved the outdoors.

A special thank you goes out to his wonderful neighbors and friends, including Joe & Lori Furrow and family, Jamie & Jennifer McGlothlin and family, Chris Sellors, Melissa Shepherd (his hospice nurse) and many more who considered him a beloved family member. His daughter would also like to thank those who have reached out to share personal stories about Roger. Those endearing testaments of his kindness will be cherished forever as will the memories of a man who was described best as “a good man.”
