Taylor, James Howard

Taylor, James HowardJames Howard “Jimmy” Taylor, 55, of Bozoo, WV, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024, surrounded by his daughters and granddaughter following a long illness. He was born September 9, 1968, in Raleigh County, WV. He was the son of the late James Edward Taylor and Sharon “Shorty” Stover Taylor.

Jimmy was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors. He found peace by sitting on a riverbank with fishing pole in his hands or simply deer hunting and coon hunting with his daughters and his dad. You would always find him in the summer months throwing back some cold ones and raising a little hell. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1986. Our dad was far from a saint in his time here on earth and he was known to raise a little hell here and there and had one too many close calls.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Isaiah Monroe, and one other grandchild.

Survivors include two daughters, Bridget Boothe (Cole) of Pearisburg, VA, and Tierra Taylor of the home place; six grandchildren, Trinity Robbins of Pearisburg, VA, McKinslee and Hunter Taylor of Peterstown, WV, Serenity Boothe of Pearisburg, VA, Madison West of Kentucky, and Levi Boothe of Narrows, VA; two brothers, Eddie Taylor (Cheryl) of Shady Springs, WV, and Charles Taylor (Annie) of Beckley, WV; three nephews and one niece, Christopher and Matthew Taylor and Cordel and Cheyenne Taylor, all of Beckley, WV; one great nephew, Zaiden Taylor of Beckley, WV, and special friends, Patricia Beckett, Lois Ratliff, Kevin Moser, and Connie Ball.

There will be a viewing for Jimmy’s family and friends to say “see you later, not goodbye” from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV. His daughters have asked for people to share stories of their dad. Following the viewing, Mr. Taylor will be cremated per his request. The family would like for donations to be sent to Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.

Online guestbook can be signed or condolences may be sent to the family at www.broyles-shrewsbury.com. Arrangements by Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, Peterstown, WV.
