Dickson, Angela Cooke
Angela Pearl Ellis Dickson, 71, of Peterstown and formerly of Wikel, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, in Princeton, West Virginia, surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren.
Born March 7, 1955, in Baltimore, Maryland, Angela was the daughter of Joseph and Gloria Cooke. She spent much of her childhood in Jessup, Maryland, before her family later moved to West Virginia. At the age of 18, she married David H. Dickson. Together they built their home on Dickson Holler Road in Greenville, West Virginia, where they raised two daughters.
Angela found joy in the simple and lasting things of life. She loved planting flowers, especially roses, and enjoyed crocheting, drawing, and painting. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Angela was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Dickson; her son, David H. Dickson Jr.; her parents, Joseph and Gloria Cooke; her stepfather, Brady Ellis Sr.; her brother-in-law, Joseph Kirby; and her son-in-law, Kelly H. Copeland.
She is remembered by her daughters, Sodonia Dickson and April Copeland, both of Peterstown; her grandchildren, Karista Bryant and Shawn of Rupert, Cheyenne Yates and Dakota of Peterstown, Marcus Spinks II and companion Grim of Glenville, Remington Mace and companion Josephine of Peterstown, and Angel Lockhart of Peterstown; and her great-grandchildren, Abriella, Easton, and Elsie of Rupert, and Isabella, Lana, Emma, Zoey, and Keaton of Peterstown.
She is also remembered by her siblings, Deborah Kirby of Peterstown, Maureen Lucus and Jimmy of Organ Cave, Sharon Brown and Johnny of Fairlea, Brady Ellis and Rhonda of Moncove Lake, Mathew Ellis and Liz of Pennsylvania, and Joseph Cooke of Maryland; and by her special friend, Angel Daughtery of Parrot, Virginia.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Community Family Worship Center, 107 Locust Street, Peterstown, WV 24963. Family will arrive from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m., with services beginning at 2:00 p.m.
