Williams, Dorothy SarverDorothy “Dot” Sarver Williams, 93, of Pearisburg, VA, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence in Blacksburg, VA on June 30, 2024. She was born on April 12, 1931, on the family farm in Hoges Chapel, VA, to Lamar Kyle Sarver and Mary Croy Sarver.

Dot was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edgar H. Williams, Jr., and her sisters: Effie Witowsky, Mary Ann Bunts, and her young brother Billy Sarver.

She is survived by her son, Michael H. Williams and Karen of Simpsonville, SC; son Gregory K. Williams and Elizabeth Ann of Pembroke, VA; daughter Deborah Gail Corell of Roanoke; and daughter Sharon Williams Duncan of Blacksburg, VA. Dot is also survived by seven grandchildren: Chris Williams, Michelle Stowe (Jody), David Williams (Sherry), Shelley Williams (Roy Asbury), Jeremy Williams, Eddie Duncan, and Jake Duncan; and five great- grandchildren: Madison and Landon Williams, Rhiannon and Sadie Stowe, and Lia Asbury. Other survivors include her sisters-in-law, Ethel Ropp, Connie Kramer, and Phyllis (Snooky) Williams; brother-in-law, Tommy Williams (Loretta); and numerous nieces and nephews.

One of Dot’s proudest achievements was earning her BS degree in accounting at the age of 51. She was a dedicated member of the Giles Memorial Hospital and Carilion Community Hospital Auxiliary for over 25 years. Dot attended Riverview Baptist Church, where she cherished her Widows group Bible Study. She was an avid reader and fulfilled her passion for travel by visiting all 50 states and exploring the world. Known for her warmth and love, Dot was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the community for their prayers, visits, calls, and gestures of kindness. Special thanks go to Carilion Hospice, Nurse Amanda, and Nurse Devin for their compassionate care and support.

A funeral service honoring Dots life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, VA with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm, followed by the funeral at 3 pm. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery (Mt. Lebanon Church Hoges Chapel).
