Parcell, Mary BurroughsMary Frances Burroughs Parcell, 94, of Poplar Hill, VA, went home to be with the Lord she served on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at her home. She was born April 26, 1930 in Giles County, VA, the daughter of the late James & Cora Burroughs.

Frances was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She graduated from Pearisburg High School with the class of 1947. She retired from Celanese after 47 years of service.

She enjoyed being outdoors and traveling. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

Frances was a connection for her family and kept up with her loved ones near and far. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Blane & Cora Ethel Kidd Burroughs, her husband, Hersel Henderson Parcell, her brothers & sisters-in-law, Jack & Edna Burroughs, Howard Burroughs, Fred & Shirley Burroughs, Harry & Rowena Burroughs, Charles Burroughs, Orrin & Bonnie Burroughs, John & Lucy Burroughs and Douglas Burroughs, her sisters & brothers-in-law, Mabel & Junior Morris, Maxine & Joe Eaton, Virginia & “Jack” Thacker, Wanda & Wade Blankenship and Dorothy (“Dot”) & John Doug Vest her, grandson, Wesley Talbert and her great-grandson, Gage Price..

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters & sons-in-law, Joyce & Mike Talbert, Sharon Warner and Stacey & Fred Evans; her sister & brother-in-law, Betty & Larry Lane; her grandchildren, Lori & Zeb Bowden, Clay & Kaitlyn Warner, Patti Price, Kara & Jimmy Turner, Jonathan Warner, Jackson Evans and Charlsie Evans; her great-grandchildren, Katie Bowden, Susanna Bowden, Jake Bowden, Owen Bowden, Aidric Warner, Jude Warner, Colt Price, Case Price and Ty Price; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 7, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Mac Miller and Charles Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until service time, 6:00 P.M. She will be buried at Highland Memory Gardens on a later date, privately.
