Yon, Sharron Sadler Reed 4Sharron Sadler Reed Yon, 64, of Dublin, VA, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at Lewis Gale Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born January 14, 1959 in Radford, VA, the daughter of the late Bittle, Jr. & Inez Wickline Sadler.

Sharron lived her life to the fullest. She was a precious soul, a remarkable friend and held many special qualities. She was known for her cooking, especially her chicken salad and macaroni & cheese. Sharron was a member of the Giles High School Class of 1977 and spent much of her life in the Poplar Hill Community.

She was a strong Christian woman who could sing like an angel. She was considered a prayer warrior for many friends and family members. She enjoyed laughing and dancing with her family.

She leaves behind many wonderful memories for her family to cherish. She is now rocking in her rocker by the ocean, with her toes in the sand, a plate of fried shrimp in one hand and a glass of Moscato in the other.

Sharron was preceded in death by her parents, Bittle King Sadler, Jr, Inez Wickline Sadler and Dawn Ballard Sadler, her brothers, Tommy Ballard and Johnny Sadler, her grandmother-in-law, Angela Wimmer Reed and her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Paul, Jr. & Mary Fortner Reed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Chase Reed and Melanie (Wayne) David and their father, Steve Reed; her “grand dogs”, “Pearl”, “Casper” & “Jackson”; her brother and sisters, Ronnie Ballard, Debbie Stafford and Donna Sloan; a special friend, John Saunders, numerous nieces and nephews; and her special pet companion, “Pixie.”

A celebration of Sharron’s life is planned for Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 6:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, with Rev. Brad Lewis, Charles Henderson and Donna Sharp officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until service time, 6:00 P.M. Per her wishes, after the celebration, she will be cremated and her children will carry out her plans to be laid to rest.
