Woody, Jr., Robert F.

Robert F. Woody, Jr., age 94 of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Garnett Brillhart Woody; parents, Robert and Besse Mae Woody; and sister, Jeanine Holloway.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Walter L. and Anna Woody; and grandson, Tristan R. Woody.

Robert was a graduate of Virginia Tech and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a Rocket Scientist/Engineer at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. He attended Cambria Baptist Church in Christiansburg where he was a Sunday school teacher and Deacon Emeritus. He was a chaplain at the local Masonic Lodge McDaniel Chapter #86, a member of the Christiansburg Stock Club and also was a cave exploring enthusiast.

The family would like to thank the staff at Radford Health and Rehab for the care they gave Mr. Woody. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Heifer International Fund.

Funeral services will be conducted at Horne Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2023 with Rev. Keith Crowgey officiating. His family will receive friends from 12:00 (noon) -2:00 p.m. Friday at Horne Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
