Williams, Aubrey Miller 8Aubrey Miller Williams, 96, of Penn Laird, Virginia and formerly of Hoges Chapel departed this life August 26, 2023 in the care of Blue Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Giles County on April 1, 1927 he was a son of Johnny Gordon Williams and Gertrude Martin Williams.

Aubrey proudly served in the United States Army during the European Occupation as a tank driver. He would return home to Hoges Chapel giving over 40 years of service to Celanese. He was a member of Mount Lebanon First United Methodist Church. When not at work or with family, you could find Aubrey hunting and fishing. He was proud of the several awards he would win through the years for largest trout and turkey.

In addition to his parents, Aubrey is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Williams; sisters, Lillie Stafford, and Gladys Martin; and brothers, Earl Williams, Noel Williams, and Ned Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Willard “Skipper” Williams (Brenda) of Penn Laird, VA; a grandson, Travis Williams; and great-grandchildren, Jaiden Williams, Jude Williams, and Jonah Williams.

There will be a funeral service conducted on August 31, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Funeral services will conclude at Birchlawn Burial Park with Military Rites given by the United States Army Honor Guard and VFW Post Number 6000. The family will receive friends at Kendall Funeral Home on August 31, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
