Severe thunderstorms this afternoon will cause a risk of damaging wind gusts across the entire area. Gusts over 60 mph may occur in any stronger storms. Head indoors if severe weather occurs. Stay away from windows, and watch for fallen trees and power lines.

Heavy rain from repeated rounds of thunderstorms will cause a localized flash flooding risk across the entire area this afternoon. This risk is highest west of the Blue Ridge. Head for higher ground if flooding occurs. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads.
