Walters, Luther Carroll
Luther Carroll Walters, 88, formerly of the Wilburn Valley Community of Pearisburg, VA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Lindside Healthcare Center.
He was born February 22, 1938, at the family homeplace, in Pearisburg, VA, the son of the late Roy William & Lena Agnes Johnston Walters.
Luther was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a man of God and walked the walk and talked the talk. He was a man of few words but full of wisdom. He lived everyday of his life in the image of the Lord. He would help anyone, often being taken advantage of for his kindness.
Luther was a hard worker. He enjoyed mowing and landscaping for area businesses.
He was a top-notch father and grandfather. He was crazy about his wife, whom he shared 53 wonderful years with, prior to her homegoing. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Luther was preceded in death by his parents, Roy William & Lena Agnes Johnston Walters, his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth Adams Walters, his son, Luther G. (“Mister”) Walters, his son-in-law, Randy Robertson and all of his siblings.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted daughter & son-in-law, Elizabeth & Larry Mann; his beloved granddaughter, Andrea & Ted Podlesni; his great-grandson, Daniel Luther Podlesni and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Birchlawn Burial Park Mausoleum with members of the Pembroke Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints officiating.
