Tabor, III, Thomas Edward

Thomas Edward Tabor, III, 97 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 at his home. Mr. Tabor was born in Pulaski, Virginia to the late Thomas E. Tabor, Jr. and Blanche Miller Tabor. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Charlotte Tabor; and siblings, James Tabor, Elizabeth Payette, and Mary Rosebro.

Mr. Tabor graduated from Virginia Tech in 1954 with a BS in Animal Science. He started his career with Montgomery County extension service and retired in Carroll County after 30 years of service with the Virginia Cooperative Extension. Up until his passing he enjoyed his family, farm and cattle.

Survivors include his wife, Allene Sink Tabor; children, Anne T. Price (Randall) and Tommy Tabor (Mary); grandchildren, Christopher Price, Andrew Price, Thomas Tabor (Amanda), Jake Tabor, and Zachary Dalton; and great-grandchildren, Ava Tabor and Alyza Tabor.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of the caregivers that have cared for dad over the last several years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Hillsville First Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ryan Mills and Dr. Lawrence Childs officiating. Burial will follow in the Newbern Cemetery in Dublin. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Hillsville, Mountain Valley Hospice or to the charity of your choice. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
