Sowers, Joseph Aaron

Joseph Aaron Sowers, age 68, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Born February 10, 1956, in Union, WV. He was the son of the late Elder Charles & Eula Belle Sowers.

Joseph was a director of training instructor for multiple tractor trailer training centers until his retirement in 2021. He was a member of the Cashmere Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, and he enjoyed many adventures in the outdoors with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Solomon Sowers; and one sister, Sarah Cayton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Kim Sowers of Peterstown; one son, Heath Sowers and wife Rachel; two of the most awesome grandsons, Owen & Eli Sowers, all of Arden, NC; and one sister Ruth Sowers Urquhart & husband Robbie of Cloverdale, WV. Additionally, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and great great nieces & nephews; his best buddy, Mervin Taylor; and several other extended family members & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Tony Birkhead officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery in Bozoo, WV.

Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 9:00PM on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the funeral home.
