Snead, Patsy Shaver

Patsy Shaver Snead, 82, of Blacksburg, went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2026. Born on April 19, 1944, Patsy was the daughter of the late Charles Rudolph Shaver and Annie Cook Shaver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Charles Sidney Shaver, William Franklin Shaver, Billy Joe Shaver, Ellen Robins Shaver, and Betty Jean Shaver.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Johnny Ray Snead; her sons, Paul Raymond Snead (Katherine) and Steven Matthew Snead (Amanda); and her daughter, Lora Ann Slusher (Jason Cromer). Patsy also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Caitlin Nicole Slusher (Brian Gresty), Jacob Ryan Snead, Addison Grace Snead, Ethan Frank Rodriguez, and Elijah John Snead, Annabell Hall, Shannon Moore, Nick Moore, Michael Freeze, and Robert Freeze.

She is also survived by her siblings, Louise Shaver Rogers, Peggy Shaver Myers, Jimmy Lee Shaver, and Johnny Thomas Shaver, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and a host of extended family and dear friends.

In 1974, Patsy left the only home she had ever known to begin a new life and raise a family with her California-native husband. She was a devoted member of the Church of God in Vacaville, California, where she taught many young people about the Lord and His love. Patsy remained a faithful servant until the very end and is now rejoicing in His presence. In 1998, Patsy and Johnny returned to her beloved family farm to enjoy retirement and the peaceful country life she cherished.

Patsy, affectionately known as “Farms” and lovingly called “Mamaw” by her grandchildren, was a source of love, warmth, and kindness to everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched, but her family finds comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 29th 2026, at 11:00am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-11am prior to the service.
