Skidmore, Jr., Edward Guy

Edward Guy Skidmore, Jr., 76, of Pearisburg went to be with the lord on Friday, September 23, 2022, with his wife and other family members by his side.

Edward was a 1965 graduate of Narrows High School and studied Electronics and Instrumentation at New River Community College. “Eddie,” as he was known to his co-workers, worked 42 years as an electrician at Celanese. Edward was a devout member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Pearisburg, where he enjoyed several years as a Sunday school teacher.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents Edward Guy Skidmore, Sr. and Catherine (Cathy) Zagata Skidmore. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Brenda “Jill” Mutter Skidmore, one son, Vance (Vikki) Skidmore of Snowville, VA, their children Caleb Skidmore and Breannah Carr, brother David (Mary) A. Skidmore of Bluefield, VA, sister Mary Catherine Skidmore McClintock of Oswego, NY, brother Mark (Venita) G. Skidmore of Narrows, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A mass celebrating his life will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Pearisburg Thursday, September 29, 2022, with Father Patricio Alcanta and Father Louie Benoir. The family will receive visitors at the church at 10:00, and the service will follow at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers and cards, the family would like memorial donations to be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church in Pearisburg.
