Sinking Creek Bridge to be Closed Temporarily 2Weather permitting, starting Monday, March 2 at 8 a.m. the bridge over Sinking Creek on Route 772 (Sinking Creek Road) in Giles County will be closed to traffic for approximately five days. The bridge is located 2.30 miles from Route 771 (Lebanon Road) and 0.75 mile from Route 730 (Eggleston Road).

Between March 2-6, drivers will not be able to cross the bridge. Traffic on Sinking Creek Road can detour around the bridge using Route 730 (Eggleston Road) and Route 460.

Detour signage will be posted, and electronic message boards will be in place to alert motorists to the upcoming temporary closure. The bridge is expected to reopen by 7 p.m. on March 6.

This is part of the preliminary work to replace the existing aging bridge with a modern structure that meets current standards. The bridge replacement is scheduled to start in late 2027.
