Shrewsberry, Sherman HenrySherman Henry Shrewsberry, aged 81, of Narrows, Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 2, 2024. Born on May 9, 1943, in the heart of Virginia, his legacy is etched in the hearts of all who knew him.

Sherman dedicated his life to his family, his country, and his community. He proudly served as a Private in the United States Army, a testament to his enduring patriotism and valor. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a mechanic at the Radford Army and Ammunition Plant.

He shared a beautiful and enduring love with his beloved wife, Ruby Ann Evans Shrewsberry. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, hard work, and countless treasured memories. Their bond was an inspiration to their children, Michael Shrewsberry (Tonya), Sherman Shrewsberry (Kim), Andy Jack Shrewsberry (Jonna), and daughter Melinda Gail Shrewsberry. Sherman was a guiding light in their lives, a role model of the virtues of patience, love, and resilience. Sherman was a doting grandfather to nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. His eyes would light up with joy in their presence, and he imparted wisdom and stories that will be cherished for generations. Each child and grandchild were a source of immense pride and happiness for him.

Preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson Shrewsberry and Cora Parker Shrewsberry, Sherman is remembered for the way he honored their legacy through his actions and the deep values he instilled in his family. His life was a reflection of the upbringing they gave him, rooted in love, respect, and community.

An avid outdoorsman, Sherman found solace and joy in the simplicity of nature. He had a passion for hunting and catfishing, often sharing his catch with family and friends. His garden was a place of tranquility where he cultivated not only plants but also deep thoughts and a connection with the earth. Sherman’s other pastimes included watching westerns and wrestling, which provided him with endless entertainment and relaxation.
