Sexton, Frankie Payne
Frankie Payne Sexton, 68, of Pearisburg, Virginia, passed away on May 21, 2026, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital. Born on April 22, 1958, in Virginia, he was a man who valued hard work, loyalty, family, and the simple joys of life. Frankie carried himself with quiet strength and a steady presence that those around him came to depend on. He lived his life with a practical spirit and a kind heart, and he will be remembered for the warmth he brought to his family and friends throughout the years.
Frankie worked as a truck driver for Electroplate Rite, where he was known for his dedication and reliability. He took pride in doing his job well and understood the importance of showing up, working hard, and taking care of responsibilities. In addition to his work on the road, he also served the community through his involvement with RMC events as security for more than 20 years. His long commitment and love of that role reflected the trust others placed in him and the dependable nature that defined much of his life. In addition, he had a strong sense of community and faithfully served others as a volunteer firefighter with the Pearisburg Volunteer Fire Department, where he also dedicated his time as a Fire Instructor.
He enjoyed following his favorite teams and pastimes, and these interests brought him many hours of enjoyment. Frankie loved watching the New York Yankees play baseball and was a devoted fan of the Giles Spartans, the New York Jets, and Virginia Tech. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, and he appreciated the excitement and tradition of the sport. When he had the opportunity, he found peace and pleasure in camping, where he could relax and enjoy time outdoors. These interests were part of the life he built and the memories he shared with those closest to him.
Frankie is survived by his wife, Janet Sexton; his daughters, Tiffany Burton and her husband Adam, and April Nicholson and her husband Reid; and his grandchildren, Johnny, Gabe, Zeke, Abbey, Micah, and Caroline. He is also survived by his brother, Bobby Sexton; his sister, Debbie Smith and her companion Dale Linkous; a brother-in-law, Rick Camacho; and a cousin who is much like his brother, Bobby Sexton and his wife, Deena; and many other family members and friends. His family was a source of pride and love throughout his life, and he cherished the bonds he shared with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Payne Sexton and Dorothy Scott Sexton; and his sister, Kay Camacho. Their memory remained an important part of his life, and he now joins them in eternal rest. Frankie’s life was one marked by devotion to family, faithfulness in work, and steadfast support of the people and things he loved.
