Sarver, Bonnie Epling

Bonnie Sue Epling Sarver, 72, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, of the Bearspring Community of Giles County, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 17, 2026 surrounded by her family.  Born August 13, 1953 in Pearisburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Bittle & Lucille Epling.

Bonnie grew up in the Wayside community of Giles County and attended Wayside Baptist Church as a child, returning to attend the same church in the last years of her life. She loved her church family and always kept the neighbors from Wayside close to her heart.

A 1971 graduate of Narrows High School, she received her LPN License from Giles County Vocational School the same year. She always cared and advocated for her patients and nursing home residents.  Bonnie was proud to be a nurse.

Also in 1971, she married the love of her life, Eddie Sarver.  Her passing came one month before they would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

In addition to her husband, those left to cherish her memory are her son, Troy Sarver; her daughter & son-in-law, Tammy & Billy Thomas; her beloved granddaughter, Heather Thomas; her step-granddaughter, Tiffany Morris; her step-great-grandchildren, Remi and Maddie; “Brother” Francis Epling who was so dear to her & his wife, Shirley; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Rita & Jerry Palmer, Terry & Barbara Sarver, and Clifford & Kimberly Sarver; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and her special dog “Moo Moo.”

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, with Pastor Jerry Hagerman officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg, VA.

The family welcomes flowers or donations to a charity of your choice in memory of Bonnie.
