Ridpath, Sr., Roger Conrad

Ridpath, Sr., Roger Conrad 4Roger “Conrad” Ridpath, Sr. September 11, 1946 – May 15, 2023

My man Roger “Conrad” Ridpath, Sr. left the old Earth on Mother’s Day 2023. He had the greatest love, respect, and relationship with his mother while she was here on Earth, so what greater day for him to go to Heaven to be with her and Jesus. Conrad was raised in a loving Christian home. Though he never committed his life to Jesus, he always believed in God. Conrad had the word Love tattooed on his left hand and the word Hate tattooed on the right. When he accepted Jesus into his heart and life two years ago, the word hate disappeared. Conrad said, “God took all the hate away.” Conrad was a simple man. He never wanted “a fuss” made over him. When he loved, he loved hard. He would walk through fire for those he loved.

He was born, raised, and passed in the family home that he loved dearly. Those gone on before him are his parents, Rev. Dan and Bertie Thornton Ridpath; brothers, Garnett, Terry, Curtis, Mike and Al Ridpath; sister, Joyce Nester; and his son, Roger C. Ridpath, Jr.

Survivors are his wife, Wanda Ridpath; daughter, Kim (Troy) Lawson; son, Caleb Ridpath; sister, Pat (Tinker) Stoots (He always considered Tinker a brother); grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Davis, Shayla, Logan, Leeland, Olivia, Naomi and little Miss Rosalyn.

Conrad’s wishes were to be cremated and no services be held.

My man has always been such a blessing to me. Even in his passing I am blessed. Blessed by God to be able to keep Conrad’s wishes. Even in his passing, blessed for the time we had to say what we wanted to say to each other. Blessed in finding comfort in knowing that my man is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am blessed to have the promise of seeing my man again some day. Thank you Lord.

The Ridpath family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford. www.mullinsfuneralhome.com
