Price, Louise Eakin

Louise Eakin Price, 86, of Blacksburg, Virginia passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024. Louise Price was born in Salem, VA in 1938.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Price, her parents, Trigg and Irene Eakin, her brother, David Eakin, her sister, Alice Eakin and grandchild, Christopher Thomas. She is survived by her son, Dale Price and (Donna); daughter, Diane Thomas (Gary); brother, Tony Eakin; Granddaughters Heather, Gretchen, Kelsey and Jacqueline and four great grandchildren.

Louise graduated from Fort Lewis High School in 1956. Allen and Louise were married 63 years before Allen’s passing in 2020. She earned a RN degree from Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She worked 35+ years at VA Tech in the Agronomy Department doing laboratory work in tobacco and soils. She loved taking her granddaughter, Heather to school and tending to her flowers, and plants in and outside of the house. Her favorite TV shows were the “Price is Right” and the “Young and the Restless”. After retirement, she participated in many senior trips and traveling across the US.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, August 29, 2024 at McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg, VA. Family will receive friends and family prior to the service. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, Mountain View Humane Society, Christiansburg, VA.
