Price, Carl Edward

Carl E. Price, 82 of Pearisburg, Virginia passed away Thursday morning December 1, 2022 in Mooresville, NC with family by his side. Born Carl Edward Price in Pulaski, Virginia on January 16, 1940, he was the son of the late John and Thelma Harrell Price.

Carl loved life, people, animals, and watching his Westerns. He dearly loved all of his family, especially his three grandsons who called him Papaw.

After graduating from Pearisburg High School Carl started working at Celanese, but spent most of his career at Lowe’s where he was a successful store manager for over 23 years. He loved to talk about his work and was active in the community everywhere he lived.

Carl was strong in his faith, loved his Church and cared for people wherever he lived. He and Reba, his wife of 56 years, loved to study the Bible and even completed all the Disciple classes in the United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents and wife, Carl is preceded in death by his brother, Norman Price.

Survivors include his son, Chris Price and his wife, Terrie of Swannanoa, North Carolina; his daughter, Connie Cranor and her husband, Sam of Mooresville, North Carolina; His grandchildren, Weston Cranor and his wife, Casey of Charlotte, North Carolina; Blake Cranor of Wilmington, North Carolina and Zachary Cranor of Mooresville, North Carolina; brothers, W.T. Price of Pearisburg, and John “Dooley” Price of Pearisburg; and a sister, Joyce Ann Collins and her husband, Shockey of Pembroke; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other beloved family members and friends.

The family will receive friends and those near to their heart on Monday, December 5, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Sharon Price Emory officiating.
