Phillips, Mary Perdue
Mary Ellen Perdue Phillips, age 84, of Elliston, VA, passed away on August 4, 2026. Mary was born in Roanoke, VA on March 3, 1942, to the late Maury Perdue and Ruth Mae Hall Goodwin.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Phillips, Sr.; parents, Maury Perdue and Ruth Mae Hall Goodwin; three sisters, Dean Cocke, Lucy Workman, Ann Ebey; and brother, Wesley Perdue.
She is survived by two sons, Jamie Boston (Lisa), and Frederick Phillips (Donna); two daughters, Belinda Welcher and Mary Jordan (O.J.).
She was a grill cook for many years at Wilson’s Restaurant in Elliston and retire from Walmart in Salem, VA.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Good Samaritan and Sheila S. Strauss Hospice house, her grandson, Joshua Smith and his wife, Elizabeth, and Brandon and Ashley Welcher for all their loving care, helping hands and support.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. at the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church, 674 Alleghany Springs Road, Shawsville, VA. There will be a brief ceremony officiated by her grandson, Brandon Welcher during that time.
