Pettrey, Louise Brown

Louise Brown Pettrey, age 94, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Born February 27, 1931, she was the daughter of Andrew Brown and Hallie Dillon Brown.

She retired from the Celanese after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Appalachian Christian Center, Peterstown, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Pettrey of 58 years; brother, Pete Brown; daughter, Linda Morrison Coburn; and granddaughter, Hether Morrison Ballard.

Survivors include her daughter, Hallie Pennington and husband Darrell of Rich Creek, VA; grandchildren, Paul Morrison and wife Alleta of Rich Creek, VA, and Mike Pennington and wife Tammy of Rich Creek, VA; six great-grandchildren, Jacqui (John) Firtz, Ben Morrison, Christian (Haley) Ballard, Justin Ballard, Sydni Pennington, and Emileigh Pennington; three great-great-grandchildren, Elinor Firtz, Weston Ballard, and Karli Ballard; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Medi Hospice for the wonderful care and love Louise received. A special thank you to her nurse, Kandis Jackson.

There will be a private family graveside service with Pastor Mike Biggs officiating.
