New River Radio Group adds VP

New River Radio Group has announced the addition of Paul Johnson as Vice President-General Manager. Johnson spent nearly 15 years operating media companies in Fredericksburg and Richmond, as well as groups in Minnesota, Colorado, and North Carolina.

“My daughter is a Tech Grad, so I’ve spent quite a bit of time in the New River Valley. My wife and I are thrilled to now call it home.”

New River Radio is the flagship radio group for Virginia Tech and Radford sports, and includes radio stations WBRW (The Bear), WPSK, WRAD, and WVHK (Hot 100.7). In addition, the company offers an array of digital products.

“It’s a wide range of marketing solutions,” Johnson says, “that allows our clients to follow consumers from the online to the off-line world. Coupled with our heritage local personalities, it’s a combination that will generate impact.”

New River Radio’s studios are on Lee Highway in Radford.
