McGlothlin, Roy Dean

Roy Dean McGlothlin, 56, departed this earthly life on August 8, 2026, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem Virginia after a hard fought battle with kidney and liver disease.

He was born to the family of the late Brenda Saul Thompson of Christiansburg Virginia and Roy Lee McGlothlin of Stokesdale North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his Step Father, Leon B Thompson, his mother Brenda S Thompson, and his sister Deanna Lee Byrd.

Roy leaves behind his father Roy Lee McGlothlin, step mother Rebecca McGlothlin, sister Laurie Beeson/Donnie Parrish of Stokesdale, sister Tricia Wilkins of Martinsville and fiancé Annetta Wilkins of Christiansburg. In addition he is survived by his extended family, Laura McGlothlin, Alyssa Marsh, Grant Bean along with many nieces and nephews.

Roy grew up in Stokesdale North Carolina but spent more of his adult life in Christiansburg Virginia. He was a loving son and a great pawpaw to Zoey, Ashton, and Isabella who he treated as his own.
