Martin, Curtis Dale
Curtis Dale Martin, 69 of Blacksburg has taken a permanent seat overlooking the farm, his one main passion. He took this seat on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
Anyone who knew Dale knew that he wasn’t happy unless he was on the farm, he loved to just sit on the hill and just watch. He was a friend to everyone and was always there to help.
He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Carl and Jean Martin. Left to carry on his work are his children, Amanda (Robert) Lewis, and Alisha Martin (Chris). His sister, Linda (Ed) Winters, and his Grandchildren who he loved more than life itself, Emily Akers, Zachary Lewis, Mallory Akers, Curtis Lewis, and Rylan Lester. Special friends who were more like family, Tony, Diane, Morgan, Jordan, Katie Fenton. Along with Angie Roberts and Bobbi Sue Hale.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, April 8 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at McCoy Funeral Home. The funeral will take place on Thursday, April 9 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. He will be laid to rest at his homeplace where he grew up. Instead of flowers, the family is asking for donations to either Riner Rescue Squad, or the Christiansburg Fire Department.
