Maness, Wayne David

Wayne David Maness of Peterstown WV, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away on June 3, 2026. Wayne was born on October 28,1956, in Williamson, WV. He was the son of the late James and Bessie Maness of Peterstown. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Jim Ed Maness of Peterstown.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, MaryJean. Also left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Beth Hudson (Seth) of Pearisburg, VA. Wayne adored his 8 beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Deborah Baker of Peterstown, Russell (Jennifer) of Virginia Beach, VA, Sue Maness and Bridgett Maness, both of Peterstown. Wayne attended Peterstown Missionary Baptist Church in Peterstown, WV.

The family wishes to thank Lindside Health Care Center for their excellent care for Wayne.

His wish was to be cremated with a memorial service at the Peterstown Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor John Pena officiating. The date for the service will be announced later.
