Lloyd, Thelma Brakefield

Thelma Ruth Brakefield Lloyd, 93, of Elliston, Virginia, formerly of Greenville, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lula Brakefield, her husband, Sherman Lloyd, three children, Betty (Joe) Tratnik, Kathy Taylor, and Earnest Hall, one great grandchild, Joseph Ramon Tratnik and her brothers, OB, Frank, Clarence, and James Brakefield.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Roy (Joy) Hall; her son-in-law, Stanley Taylor; her sister, Shirley Bleichrodt; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews along with cherished friends and her church family.

Thelma was a strong and determined woman who loved her family and God. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, and working jigsaw puzzles.

Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice and those that came to stay with her to make it possible for Thelma to be at home, where she wanted to be. You are loved and appreciated!

If you wish to honor Thelma’s memory, the family suggests donations in her memory to either Good Samaritan Hospice or Seneca Baptist Church’s Widow and Widower’s fund.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 2-3 p.m. at Seneca Baptist Church, with Funeral Services to follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor John Collins officiating. Interment will be Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Taber Cemetery in Greenville, TN.
