Jones, Fredrick Kendall
Fredrick Kendall Jones, 51, passed away in the loving arms of his family at his home in Charlotte, NC, on August 19, 2024. Born and raised on Guinea Mountain in Giles County, Virginia, Kendall’s heart remained deeply connected to his roots.
A proud graduate of Giles High School, he was a dedicated Spartan and Virginia Tech fan, frequently returning for games.
Kendall enjoyed a successful 34-year career with Food Lion, starting in Pearisburg and eventually managing several stores across the Carolinas. Known for his expertise and reliability, he was the go-to person for turning around struggling stores. Outside of work, Kendall was passionate about the outdoors, indulging in hunting, fishing, shooting, and various projects that beautified his surroundings. He cherished spending time with his family, whether traveling or simply relaxing at home.
Kendall is survived by his loyal spouse and the love of his life, Nina Abrams; his son, KJ Jones (Junior); his devoted step-sons, Joey and Noah Abrams; and a special “Granny,” Kimberly Boles. He is also survived by his parents, Rudy and Juanita Jones of Guinea Mountain, Virginia; his brother, Robert; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends.
The family will receive friends in a time of visitation on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Ms. Sharon Dunn officiating.
