Huskey, Billie Jean Kirk

Huskey, Billie Jean Kirk 4No longer bound to a wheelchair, Billie Jean Huskey breathed her last breath on earth and ran on her own two feet into the arms of Jesus on Sunday evening, March 5, 2023. Born on May 12, 1978, she was a kind child who loved with all her heart. Those close to her called her B.

Billie Jean graduated from Giles High School. She then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Virginia Tech and a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Marymount University.

On October 8, 2002, she had a car accident, leave her a quadriplegic. Enduring many obstacles, she remained faithful to the Lord and eventually praised him for her accident, because it drew her to him. She lived life to its fullest for the next 20 years.

Billie Jean was reunited in Heaven with her son, Gavin Huskey; grandparents, Garfield and Estelle Bales, and Glen and Opal Kirk, waiting to hug her. Uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends were overjoyed to see her. Her special friend, Jeff Duncan, was surely waving to her. Billie Jean’s concern for you all is to be ready to meet Jesus. She will be waiting for you with open arms.

Those left to mourn her departure here on earth, but joyous for her healing are mother and step-father, Linda and Jimmy Peck; father, William (Billy) Kirk; sisters, Beth Kirk Osborne (Josh), Susan Kirk Adkins (Brian); nieces, Ciara Meredith, and Ali Adkins; nephews Jack Meredith (Bryanna), and Hunter Adkins; and great nieces, Jordynn and Jaidynn Meredith, and Aria Adkins; uncles, Richard Bales, and Mike Kirk (Carol); aunts, Becky Moore and Mary St. Clair; and many cousins who loved her so much.

Also surviving Billie Jean are many close friends which include her loving nurses: Teresa, Melissa, Tori, Stellisha, and Ashley. Special thanks to her ride or die friends, Teresa Wiley, Charity Lewis, Kelly Steele, and Mary Jo Lizotte, and the many friends and relatives who have comforted, loved and fed us. Last but not least, thanks to her pastors whom she loved and respected: Pastors Shahn, Mike, Jay, and Debbie.

There will be a Celebration of Life held to honor the life that Billie Jean gave on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 7:00 PM in Riverview Baptist Church with Pastors Mike Mitchener, Shahn Wilburn, Jay Smith, and Debbie Hutto officiating.
