Hockett, Mary Arrington

Mary Lynn Arrington Hockett, age 73, of Christiansburg, died, Sunday, February 4, 2024 at her home. She was born in Christiansburg, Va. on June 29, 1950 to the late Walter Reid and Eunice Smith Arrington. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Phil Arrington.

She graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1968 and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Christiansburg. She was formally employed at the Vintage Cellar. She loved her children and grandchildren, Virginia Tech football tailgating, high school reunions, the gourmet cooking club, and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years. Robert D. Hockett, daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Shawn Reed, son and daughter-in-law, Robbie and Tanya Hockett, grandchildren, Brody, Cooper, Nora, Natalie, Luke, sister, Diane Arrington, brother, Tommy Arrington, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan and Jim Gray, a niece and several nephews; as well as many special friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Thursday evening at McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
