Henry Reed Memorial Fiddlers Convention

The 18th Annual Henry Reed Memorial Fiddlers Convention will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 through Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Kairos Wilderness Resort in Glen Lyn, Virginia.

This Crooked Road affiliated festival celebrates the life and music of the legendary old-time fiddler Henry Reed who lived in Southwest Virginia.

This year the festival will have a different format. It will be done as a weekend celebration and get-together rather than a formal fiddlers convention with featured bands and competitions. We have reserved part of a large field where we can camp, play music, and share fellowship all weekend.

We will host a community potluck cookout on Saturday evening at 6:00 PM and all are welcome to join in.

There is no fee for admission. The only fees are for camping which are $15.00 per night per spot for the field (tent or camper) or $25.00 per night per spot for the camper with full hookup in the formal campground.

No advance registration is required for camping with us in the field whether tent or camper, you’ll register at the Kairos’ office when you arrive.

If you want one of the few full hookup sites we’ve reserved, you need to reserve this in advance by calling them at 540-235-2777 and tell them you’re with the Henry Reed Celebration to get a discounted rate on one of our reserved spots. All of these spots are near each other in the section closest to the field.

Kairos Wilderness Resort is located at Shumate Falls Road in Glen Lyn, VA. Kairos is 1515 acres of beautiful Appalachian Mountain wilderness nestled against the New River.
