Harvey, Loren Douglas

Loren Douglas Harvey, age 88, of Christiansburg, died at his home on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on December 22, 1935, to the late Loren Ward and Mabel Francis Miller Harvey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Stump Harvey, a son, Dean Harvey, and an infant son. Doug was retired from the Town of Blacksburg.

He is survived by his loving friend, Gail O. Day; daughter, Linda Dowdy; sisters, Ethel Harvey and Betty Crawford; brothers, Mack Harvey and Wayne Harvey; special nephew, Buster; grandchildren, Christy (Greg), John (J.R.) (John Reeder); three great-grandchildren, special friends/ neighbors, Patsy Day and Sam Jones.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darrell Linkous officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 A.M. before the service.
