Gill, Cheryl Rana

Cheryl Rana Gill, 53, of Pilot, VA passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026. She was born in Giles County, VA on March 2, 1973 to Charles W. Collins and Ella M. Smith Collins. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Joyce Irene Gill.

Cheryl graduated from Giles County High School and Radford University Nursing Program. She attended Oak Road Baptist Church and was Assistant Director of Nursing at Mt. Regis Recovery Center.

She is survived by her husband, Brett Christopher Gill; children, Brian Christopher Gill (Abbie), Lakin Makayla Covey (Kyle Hoffarth), and Bryce Jeffrey Gill (Kristen Pack); grandchildren, Karter, Kamden and Kasen Hoffarth and Miles Gill; mother, Ella M. Collins; Sister, Debbie Bandy (Dana); brother, Eddie Collins; niece, Rachael Smallwood (Dave); nephews, Rayden and Jaxon McKee; father-in-law, John Gill (Gloria); brothers-in-law, John Gill, Jr. (Jill Glathar) and Jason Gill (Brittany); as well as many other family, coworkers and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 at Horne Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 pm from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with Pastor David Neal officiating.
