Frazier, Robert Wayne
Robert “Bob” Wayne Frazier, 77 of Narrows, VA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Bob was born on March 26, 1947, in Pearisburg and was a son of the late Russell Carrington Frazier and Mary Cline Hensley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Linda Meredith Frazier, and a son, Richard T. Cook.
Bob was a founding member and a current Elder of the New Valley Fellowship Church in Narrows. He was a 1965 graduate of Narrows High School playing baseball, football and basketball. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles.” He was a retired line crew supervisor with Appalachian Power. Bob loved coaching, working with the local youth and was an avid Greenwave fan. He loved the company of his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, special neighbors, his best friend and brother, Bill Riddle, and his beloved dogs, “Ricky Dog”, “Maddie” and “Addie.” Also a very devoted friend, Diane Gautier, thank you for all you have done for us.
He is survived by 2 sons, Russell E. Cook (Martha T. Fernandez) of VA Beach, Sonny W. Frazier (Tammy W.) of Narrows, 2 daughters, Kristy A. Cook of Narrows, Bridget F. Newby (Russell W.) of Narrows, 12 grandchildren, Kandice F. Whittaker, Brittany C. Kane, Ricky T. Cook, William R. Cook, Elizabeth C. Sabo, Ryan M. Cook, Sydney J. Fields, Hailey G. Gillespie, Justin C. Cook, William H. Frazier, Laney N. Newby, Trey R. Frazier,10 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Susan F. Reed (Jesse) of Stuart and special brother and sister-in-law, “Snake” and Dreama Hale of Narrows.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 11am at New Valley Fellowship Church in Narrows with Pastor Kevin Weaver officiating with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Heritage Hall Rich Creek and Carilion Giles Community Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Valley Fellowship Church, 200 Roberta St., Narrows, VA., 24124.
