Evans, Barbara Shaver

Barbara Jean Shaver Evans, 78, of Pearisburg, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023. She was born on November 3, 1944, to the late Rev. Hobert and Avis Shaver. She is preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 32 years, Brownie Evans, and many loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Barbara graduated from Giles High School class of 1963. She worked as a licensed cosmetologist for many years and retired from Celanese in 2005 after 25 years of service.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Timmy [Linda] Wilson, Tammy [David] Dent, and BJ [Lori] Evans, a step-son, Mike [Lori] Evans; grandchildren, Heath and Natalie Wilson; London Dent; Caden and Sophie Evans; step-grandchildren Ceilia and Isaac Evans; Richie [Maggie] Grubb, Brian Snider, Casey [Jacob] Davis; and step great-grandchildren Amelia Davis; Justin and Alyssa Grubb; siblings, Janette Perkins; Ann [Gale] Pennington; Buddy [Liz] Shaver; and Brenda Williams; and many special nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to her care givers, Brenda Whittaker and Lisa Huffman, for their loving care, support, and friendship.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation and funeral service on Thursday, April 13, 2023. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow Street, Pembroke, Virginia.
