Edwards, Claude Allen

Claude Allen Edwards, age 87, of Dublin, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026. Born in Haysi, Virginia, on January 11, 1939, he was the son of the late Jonah Edwards and Virgie Owens Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Arnold and Leaman Edwards, and his sister, Flora Edwards.

A proud veteran, Claude served his country in the military and went on to enjoy a long career before retiring from Volvo. Outside of work, he led an active and joyful life. He was a dedicated weightlifter, loved fast cars, and spent countless hours listening to Bluegrass music. Every year, Claude looked forward to spending his vacations making memories at Myrtle Beach.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Edwards, of the home; his son, Keith Edwards, and wife, Sharon, of Pulaski, Virginia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Service Details

Visitation: Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lindsey Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Lindsey Funeral Home, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 229.
Entombment: Following the service at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat, Virginia.
