Davis, Phyllis Jean

Phyllis Jean Davis, age 69, rushed into her Savior’s arms on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at her home. Born August 8, 1953, in Pearisburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Dent and Edith Graybeal.

Phyllis loved attending her church, Victory Pentecostal, in Lindside, WV. She had previously worked for Greenbrier Contracting at Celco and Hometown Restaurant. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all those that knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Sue Wickline; and a granddaughter, Kirsten Pace. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 39 years, Kenneth Davis; her daughter, Valeria Rice; her son, Jimmy Rice and wife Misty of Pearisburg, VA; her daughter, Donna Sanderson and husband Dennis of Peterstown; sister, Patricia Davis of Knoxville, TN; three step children that she loved, Gina Griggs and husband Mike, Chrissy Ganoe and husband Brian, and Mark Davis and special friend Michelle; grandchildren, Shawna Reynolds, Lindsey Porterfield, Samanta McCroskey, Madison Rice, Anna Pace, Jacob Helm, Mark Davis Jr., Cole Hurst, Faith Davis, Baylee Davis, Josh Ganoe, Brycen Ganoe, Kayla Fritz, Jamie-Lynn Spencer, Eliza Griggs Piles, Kendra Fritz, and Alexis, Abbie, Jon, Michael, Kenneth, Keaton, Raylan, Levi, and Maddie Griggs.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Rev. J.C. Finley officiating. Burial will follow at Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
