Dalton, Moir Stephen

Moir Stephen Dalton “Stevie/Schoolboy” of Elliston passed away peacefully on May 28 2026. He was born on May 7th 1966, and lived his life to the fullest everyday!

Stevie is preceded in death by his parents: Mori and Shelby Dalton, sister: Dianne Hall, as well as his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Left to cherish his legacy are his brother Brad Dalton (April) of Vinton, Brother-in-Law Bubbie Hall of Elliston, Nephews Chance ”Johnson” Hall of Shawsville, Nathan and David Dalton of Vinton, and Niece Heather Light (Barry Haynes) of Shawsville. He also leaves behind several other family members.

Stevie was a member of several special families (Rowe Furniture, Stoney Creek, Elliston Fire Department, and the Softball nation) and he cherished them all dearly. They too, will have a multitude of memories to carry on.

Stevie was a simple man, who had a large impact on all those he met. Nothing will ever take his place for any of us.

He was a #1 fan of Dale Earnhart, Hokie Nation, and an avid outdoor sportsman. Steve would want each one of us to carry on living this life to our fullest.

It is not goodbye, simply see you later!

A memorial service will be held Saturday May 30, 2026 at 4pm.

The family will receive respects prior to the service, from 3pm – 4pm.

To honor Stevie’s style, if you wish to attend, come as you are, dressed causal/comfortable.

Please, no flowers or plants. However, if you desire to do so, you are welcome to donate in his honor to a wildlife or animal charity of your choice.
