Cobbs, Frank Albert
Frank Albert Cobbs, age 80, of New River, Virginia died Tuesday, December 5, 2023. He was born in Radford, Virginia on May 13, 1943, to the late Glenn Harvey and Sarah Naomi Cobbs.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Zia Spivey Cobbs of New River, Virginia; one daughter, Lena Jones Byrum; three sons, Frank M. Cobbs, Gregory (Randee) Cobbs, and Steven A Cobbs; sisters Ethel Cobbs, Helen (Edward) Blake; sister-in-law Brenda Cobbs; grandchildren Deja Brooks, Domonick Taxley, Xavier Cobbs, Adelaine Cobbs, Savion and Eli Thompson, and Aria Cobbs; and great-granddaughters Luna and Lilah Brooks.
Frank served in the United States Army Signal Corps and was employed by the Radford Army Ammunitions Plant and White Motors in Dublin Virginia. Frank spent the last decades of his life in faithful service to the All About Jesus Ministry which he truly loved, a devoted and enthusiastic church and choir musician, Sunday school teacher, and deacon. Fondly known as “Friendly Frank,” he never knew a stranger and was loved by all children. To say he will be missed is a gross understatement. Rest in paradise.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 11, 2023, at 12:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Anthony M. Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm on Monday, December 11, 2023, at McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060.

Vernon and Donna Peak and Family sends their condolences to the Cobb Family. We knew Mr Cobbs for over 30 years He was a down to earth gentleman and always smiling Even though we didn’t have a close relationship with him acknowledgement of him
was always 💯 when it came to our Family. We hope his rest is peaceful.
